You say “tomato”, I say “tomah-to”June 22, 2010

Many years ago I went raw.  That’s right I was 100% raw.   What in the world am I talking about, you ask?  I only ate organic produce that wasn’t heated above a certain temperature (to preserve its natural enzymes) and did it for 8 months straight.

Talk about willpower.  Like the ridiculously dumb devotional “I-can-never-take-back-that-trip-to-Italy-when-I-ate-nothing-but-lettuce-and-almonds” kind of willpower.  But I can’t say it was a total mistake.  I learned a lot about myself along the way and have some hilarious stories to boot.  And the best takeaway was my total appreciation for raw fruits and veggies.  They really do a body amazingly well.

So to this day I make sure to eat at least a few raw foods a day, just for good measure, and grape tomatoes have been on my list of favorites for a few years now.  Just open the carton, run some water over them, and munch to your heart’s content.  So even if you never go to huge extremes to prove how much of a health nut you can be, just pop a few raw veggies a day and believe me, it’ll be good enough.
