Exploring New TerrainJuly 22, 2010

I had a mishap with my camera yesterday that caused the perfectly planned post to go up in smoke. Instead of pitching a fit I decided to relax and visit an amazing space that a friend recommended based on my unrequited love for Urban Outfitters. It’s called Terrain and even though it’s factually just a garden store, in my mind it transformed into a wonderfully green escape upon entering the grounds. I guess the people at Urban figured that somehow it wasn’t enough to monopolize the cool market through a medium as simple as textiles. Those over-achievers had to take it a step further by gently coaxing leaves and gravel into their web of effortless chic.

Dr. Suess-like beauty

Gates to the secret garden

Vertical Garden. Kind of.

So lush

So textured and beautiful

Bee paradise

Older than the hills

So delicate

Nice view

Sun-dotted ground below

Such darling little flowers

Wonderful shade variation

Not sure I have ever met a lotus flower in the flesh. Transformative.

Such lush color

I love this color in nature

Potted luciousness

We know what they say: When one door closes, another one opens. So even though my original post didn’t work out, I’m glad I took the time to explore a new opportunity. Because of it, I found a beautiful new space that left me truly relaxed and rejuvenated. Where’s your special space to relax?
