Pilates PahleaseNovember 29, 2010

This past Thanksgiving weekend was quite a task. On a dare, my boyfriend and I ended up driving down to Atlanta to spend a very short Thanksgiving stint with my twin sister and her boyfriend. Unfortunately, we left at the absolute exact same point that every other traveler driving down I-95 did. In short, my rear is still numb from being sedentary way longer than I care to admit.

I felt a bit too overwhelmed to re-enter the moving world with a Bikram yoga class upon returning to Philly, so I decided to dust off a retro classic DVD I haven’t played in years and workout from home…

Ah, my 30 seconds of fame. Clint doesn't seem too impressed, does he?

.

Looking for that core in there. I'm so used to Bikram yoga, it feels like I haven't laced up my ribcage pilates-style in ages.

Wow, it's a tanner, younger, straight-haired version of yours truly. I think I prefer the long hair to the knotty messy bun.

Time for toe-dips to help gently re-align my spine after all that car travel.

My back already feels better!

I always forget what a workout pilates is. Don't mind the remote, my boyfriend abandoned his photography duties. I'm an annoying subject to photograph.

Water please. Since I officially kicked my own butt, I'll be pulling this classic out again soon.

QUESTION: What are your favorite ways to recuperate after a long road trip?

I personally like your curly hair better. It’s so cute.

Did you have a nice Thanksgiving?

  • Trust2345

This post is so cute :-) My favorite way to recuperate is by juicing a lot, and doing a lot of yoga. It’s really the only way my body somehow gets back to feeling normal

I like the knotted messy bun! Maybe because I have straight hair – grass is greener etc.

fun post!! :) I like your curly hair better!

just getting back into routine, eating clean and MOVING ! I went a couple days over the holiday weekend without being actively active (hee!) so it’s nice to sweat today!

I love pilates! I miss a lot of those moves :(

you are adorable. hope you had a great Thanksgiving, despite the butt numbing drive!

Um, DEFINITELY the curly hair! Say what? I need to try your video! I used to LOVE pilates, but now I’ve found yoga. SO, I’m torn. Definitely. Due to the holiday food I’m doing quite a bit more cardio than what is “normal” for me. I LOVE your workout top!

Love that lulu top! So bright and cheery. That’s probably fun/freaky to watch yourself on dvd.

Pilates sounds like a good way to recuperate after a long drive!

I love my body flow class at my gym… Its the perfect balance between yoga and pilates. Besides Bikram which I love, other yoga classes kind of scare/intimidate me. I think because I have never been a very flexible person.

I did have a nice Thanksgiving Kayla! Thanks for the curly hair compliment – it seems like you may have started a unanimous voting trend:)

I love the top too. It makes working out a sunnier experience!

It is actually rather fun to watch the DVD now that it’s been several years since I taped it! It took a long time before I could watch the whole thing though. We are our own worst critics:))

Running. I can’t sit still–I have to run or dance or move. I’m all about high intensity, hard excercise.

Love your lululemon top, I tried to get the same color but my size ran out. Looks nice on you.

I did pilates about 2 years ago, along with running and I think that was the leanest I’ve been…I did the reformer machine (sp? kinda forgot what the name of the machine was) but it worked and really challenged me each time my instructor changed the band and added more resistance.

I love to get in my own bed, do my own laundry, and go for a really long walk to stretch out my legs!

Would you care to help me out by completing a survey for school?…Maybe spread it on to some friends?
We’re trying to study ways to improve the yoga/pilates experience,
    Please and thanks
