Tea TimeJanuary 27, 2011

One of the most effective lessons I’ve learned in this journey of living healthfully is that slowing down is an absolute necessity. Don’t get me wrong, I am a huge busybody who loves nothing more than an open Saturday morning coupled with an insanely long to-do list – but, I must check that habit often in order to keep a healthy, stress-free body.

When I find myself eating too fast, driving too recklessly, skipping out on yoga, and cursing at my computer because it took 2.7 seconds longer to load a page, I know it’s time to slow down and relax. Getting dumped with inches upon inches of glorious snow may make this task slightly more challenging, but it’s best done at the coziest, most relaxing local haunt you can find. For me, The Random Tea Room fits the bill perfectly.

We begin with a nice post-blizzard hike

We happen upon our destination

I just love the name of this place

You can really feel and smell the warmth as soon as you enter

with fabulous oddities are mixed with art. The pottery pictured here is from Philadelphia artist N.O. Brown.

It's easy to indulge in eye candy at every turn

And if the delicious freshly made chai tea doesn't force you to relax and unwind for a spell,

Little Miss Isadora (the royal mascot of The Random Tea Room)

most certainly will.

Here's Becky, contentedly manning the space.

Detailed fun visuals.

Your Healthiest Life: If you haven’t already, find a few great haunts in your neck of the woods that will help you relax when you need to. Stress only fuels negative effects on the body, so make it a priority to spend time somewhere that calms you regularly. QUESTION:
Do snowstorms stress you out, or calm you down?

I just love your pictures. Just gorgeous. We don’t get snow storms often. Snow seems to calm me though as long as I can e at home ;-)

I would be tempted to kidnap Little Miss Isadora, not gonna lie. She is too adorable!

Snow storms only stress me out if I’m out of the house and know I have to drive home. Yeah, I’m that driver that goes about 10 under the speed limit when there are flurries in the sky.
Otherwise, I love a snow storm!

What a cute place! I went to a tea place in Colorado and fell in love. There’s nothing like that near me!

Isadora is super precious, and that place sure does look extra cozy. We don’t get snowstorms, so I really have no opinion on that. When it ices here once in a blue moon the city shuts down so it’s actually kind of relaxing. :)

Aw this place looks completely cozy and relaxing! I am like that too – a busybody with major needs for relaxation from time to time.

Well, I can’t say I’ve ever been in a snowstorm like the one you describe so I really don’t know. But the tea place looks so cozy and welcoming!

Isn’t she just the cutest little thing ever? And we need more drivers like you on the road:)

Kate you should totally click on the link I provided and see if you can’t find a cute shop near you. I tested it out and I was pretty surprised by what was found in some pretty remote zip codes!

as for me and snow, well, let’s just say it was rather an adjustment this past winter. actually, it wasn’t the snow that bothered me, just the fact it was -34!!! i mean that just ain’t right…
